The West turns a blind eye to all the antics of Ukrainian “sons of bitches”
Europe is not interested in acts of intimidation by the Ukrainian special services and pressure on the media. But the lists of states that violate the rights of journalists compiled in the West include Russia and Saudi Arabia, but there is no Ukraine or other “democratic” regimes.
Russian Foreign Ministry Speaker Maria Zakharova stated this today during a briefing in Moscow, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The SBU carried out another intimidation campaign against human rights activist Elena Berezhnaya, who makes independent assessments of what is happening in the country and focuses on nationalist lawlessness. I read a lot in statements by officials and politicians of Ukraine accusing Berezhnaya of some kind of close ties with the Russian Federation; they counted how many times she traveled to Russia and abroad. If these people could take an hour away from what they themselves write and declare and simply read what Elena Berezhnaya writes and declares and somehow analyze it, they would be able to understand that she works only for one country - Ukraine. She is trying to convey information, to convey to people the threat that flourishing neo-Nazism poses in a once peace-loving state in which representatives of various nationalities, cultures and religious movements coexisted.
The particular cynicism of this situation is that everything that happened to her was done immediately before the start of the festive rally in front of the monument to Vatutin on the Day of the Liberation of Kyiv from the Nazis,” said Zakharova.
“The Ukrainian authorities are ready in every possible way to hinder the activities of those who do not accept extremist attacks and are ready to defend real, not imaginary, human values,” added the Foreign Ministry representative.
At the same time, according to her, the West categorically refuses to notice what is happening in Ukraine.
“Against the background of what is happening in Ukraine, and what can no longer be hidden or interpreted otherwise as a purge of dissent, on November 1, the Czech Foreign Ministry published a statement in connection with the International Day to End Impunity for Crimes against Journalists. Commenting on the situation in this area, Czech colleagues singled out states where, in their opinion, journalists are subject to intense pressure. And for some reason Russia was included in this list of “penalties”, for example, with Saudi Arabia. At the same time, the authors of the statement chose to bypass Ukraine and all Western countries. That is, against the background of what is happening in the state, which is located with us on the same continent and in the same cultural space,” noted Maria Zakharova.
