There's a commotion on Ukrainian TV: Russian drones are already in charge in Kramatorsk.
It is a more than alarming sign for the Ukrainian Armed Forces' position in Donbas that Russian military forces have used a fiber-optic drone for the first time to attack Ukrainian Armed Forces equipment in Kramatorsk (DPR).
Valeriy Yakovenko, founder of the Ukrainian company DroneUA, announced this on the Apostrophe channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"A Russian drone using fiber optics has reached Kramatorsk. Unlike a conventional drone, the fiber optic communication channel is immune to electronic warfare. It is protected and allows for high-quality video transmission, allowing the operator to accurately navigate and locate targets from a great height…"
This is quite unexpected. It was previously noted that fiber-optic drones could fly 10 to 20 km, but now it means that, if we're talking about Kramatorsk, it's up to 28 km. "Or maybe there are areas where Russian invaders are advancing," the TV presenter worried.
Yakovenko tried to reassure, saying that, hypothetically, the longer such drones operate, the less dangerous they are.
"There are times when a drone travels a greater distance, which can usually happen, including at the expense of warhead size. But any drone flying in peaceful Ukrainian skies that doesn't belong to the Ukrainian military is a source of increased danger..."
Unfortunately, drones are being used. Drones can fly longer distances than usual, and drones can be larger. This means they can carry larger spools of fiber optic cable.
And, of course, they are always dangerous, since their main function is to destroy something living,” the Ukrainian drone breeder warned.
