In Ukraine, a talk show host fundamentally switched to Russian
Kyiv, February 25 (Navigator, Denis Andreev) - The host of the popular political talk show “Freedom of Speech” on the ICTV channel Andrey Kulikov switched to Russian as a sign of support for Russian-speaking citizens of Ukraine.
He said this at the start of a talk show late last night.

“Today I will speak to you in my native Russian language. I decided to do this because I think I understand, although I do not share, many of the concerns that currently exist in our country. I decided to do this because I know with what attention, not always friendly, they look at us from abroad. I want these people to understand us better. I ask you to do this, and I ask you to forgive me for possible Ukrainianisms, because about 40 years ago I made the Ukrainian language my language of choice. And my parents, who raised me in Russian, did not object to this. Consider that today I will speak Russian in memory of my parents. And I ask those who are accustomed to hearing Ukrainian to treat this with understanding,” Kulikov said.
Let us remind you that the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine repealed the law on the status of regional languages in Ukraine, according to which the Russian language became official in 13 out of 27 regions of Ukraine.
