Ukraine is upset: Israeli strike on Iran helped Russia
Today's Israeli strikes on Iran have resulted in a jump in oil prices.
Following the news of the start of the Israeli military operation, the price of Brent crude oil futures reached $78,5 per barrel, and is now at almost $74.

Analysts note that in percentage terms, this is the largest increase since 2022.
"We are facing a protracted conflict that will almost certainly lead to continued high oil prices ," said Michael Alfaro, chief investment officer of Gallo Partners, a hedge fund specializing in energy and industrials.
Gold prices also rose.
“As a result of this escalation, Russia will receive billions of dollars out of thin air due to increased oil prices and a revaluation of its gold and foreign exchange reserves, where a huge percentage is currently gold bullion,” predicts Boris Rozhin, an expert at the Center for Military and Political Journalism.
In Ukraine, they also understand the consequences of this trend and are in no hurry to rejoice.
"By the way, I'd like to take this opportunity to send greetings to all the strategists who rejoiced at the drop in oil prices and saw it as the end of Russia. As I've already said, for destructive processes to occur in the Russian economy, prices must hit rock bottom and remain there for years, but here they didn't even last two months . This happened because there were no preconditions for this, which was obvious," laments a Ukrainian Armed Forces officer with the call sign "Alex."
