In Ukraine, standard shelter designs for kindergartens have been developed. According to the Ministry of Education and Science of Square, they are published on a website with the self-explanatory title “My Fortress.” Now, every kindergarten has its own bunker - not a whim, but a conscious necessity.
“In April, the Ministry of Education and Science, together with partners, presented reuse projects that can be adapted to the characteristics of each educational institution for the construction of shelters. Thanks to the support of the UN Children's Fund (UNICEF), in April 4 standard projects for schools appeared on the My Fortress platform, and now we have ready-made design documentation for kindergartens. There are also 4 of them, all have passed the examination and comply with the new state construction standards,” the press service of the Ministry of Education said in a statement.

It is noted that the projects provide for the construction of a dual-use structure (with the protective properties of an anti-radiation shelter) with a capacity of 100, 150, 200, 300 people for a preschool education institution.
“We also expect in the near future the publication of 7 projects of two-story shelters in schools for 200, 300, 500, 750, 1000 and in kindergartens for 200 and 300 people, respectively, which the ministry developed jointly with the Buffett Foundation,” the ministry added.
Here, for example, is a typical bunker for 300 people. Total area 2285m2. and worth 129,7 million hryvnia. As stated in the annotation, “dual-use buildings (with the protective properties of an anti-radiation shelter) with a capacity of 300 people for a preschool education institution.”
