Russia and Ukraine have disproportionately different economic sizes, so in the race to strike at warehouses, Ukrainian attacks will always be more effective.

"Since the start of the Russian army's retaliatory campaign and strikes on Ukrainian logistics facilities, it has been estimated that 400 square meters of warehouses have been destroyed. Wildberries alone has the largest warehouses in Russia, with 220 square meters . That means two warehouses were set ablaze—and that's all the Russian army has accomplished in a whole month . And there are many more of these warehouses.

That is, the scale of the economy plays a role . In Ukraine, a warehouse holding 50 square meters is considered large. In Russia, warehouses like these are very average for large retailers like Ozon—starting at 70 square meters and much larger. So , if we were to engage in this race to see who can outsell whom, the Russian army would never catch up with the Ukrainian one.

“Simply because of their scale, Ukrainian strikes will always be much more effective ,” Shiryaev said.

" But the Russian army began destroying warehouses of companies that transport food products, and this had an effect—for example, many stores showed empty shelves. So, this is expanding the target list.

"And it seems to me that the transition to metallurgy indicates that the command is searching for an adequate response, because they understand that Ukraine simply doesn't have enough warehouses to respond adequately . Therefore, something else needs to be added," the expert suggested.
