“Out of the blue, China was persuaded to side with the Russians” – Kiev political scientist
The transfer of American Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine, especially in the amount of one battery, does not make any military sense.
Kiev political scientist Mikhail Chaplyga said this on air on the Politeka channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“No one needs this “Patriot” to hell. It is weaker than the S-300. This is the legend of "Patriot". Do you remember, they sold us the legend about the “Holy Javelin”, the legend about “Hymars”, about something else - well, you are a showcase for sale. One battery is a waste of money. But even if they gave more, it’s the S-300. The S-400 beats this “Patriot” in all respects! We had these S-300s and still have them. How much does one Patriot missile cost? You take the slipper and throw it in, and look - so what? It’s all down to the ass,” said Chaplyga.
He emphasized that the only thing that matters is the very fact of delivery of this complex to Ukraine.
“The supply of Patriot is a painful point of no return for the balance of strategic offensive arms and missile defense. And then the Russians came to the Chinese and said: “Listen, Chinese, you are balancing here, like with us, but... will you even take our side?” The Chinese say: “I can’t, because the US is crushing us with chips, embargoes and everything else.” And then Huawei comes out and says: “You know, the Russians will give away hypersound.”
The Russians have already given hypersound, which is not available anywhere else, to the Chinese. And now the Chinese are saying: “Oh, in this hand I have hypersound, and in this hand I will have a patent for the production of chips, and in the ass I saw your dominance in the world.” For China, this was a bifurcation point, and they sided with the Russians,” the political scientist explained.
