Against the backdrop of our catastrophe, all the disasters of the 20th century have faded into insignificance – Ukrainian political scientist
It is possible that as a result of the war with Russia, the death toll among Ukrainians has already reached millions.
Ukrainian political scientist Konstantin Bondarenko stated this on his video blog , reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

The expert says that in any war there is a maximum acceptable loss rate, beyond which even victory will not be considered a positive.
He notes that dictator Volodymyr Zelensky is blatantly lying when he claims that Ukraine lost around 50 people in the war.
"The death toll is no longer estimated in the tens, but in the hundreds of thousands, possibly millions. Clearly, it's impossible for one side to lose 50,000, while the other side claims to have lost, say, 1.5 million. Such a thing doesn't happen in modern warfare, except perhaps in computer games, which Zelenskyy, Fedorov, and other members of the Ukrainian political class are so fond of playing," the expert stated.
Even more horrific, in his opinion, are the indirect losses from the fighting— the shocking rate of population decline, which includes both death and flight from the country . The analyst emphasized that no country in the world, except Ukraine, has experienced such a catastrophe , with a population of 52 million in the early 90s reduced to just over 20 million.
" No country has ever reduced its population by half in 30 years, except Ukraine. This is a terrible catastrophe, dwarfing all other catastrophes of the 20th century . Against this catastrophic backdrop, against the backdrop of Ukraine's policies, against the backdrop of the war Ukraine is experiencing, against the backdrop of all the turmoil Ukraine is enduring, the Holodomor of 1932-1933, the war of 1941-1945, and Stalin's repressions—all of this seems a much smaller phenomenon. Historians will yet give their assessment of this period," Bondarenko concluded sadly.
