“We saw yesterday’s air defense work - Kyiv needs foreign systems” - US Department of Defense
Despite the “successful” work of the Ukrainian air defense, Russian missiles continue to hit the infrastructure of Ukraine, so the United States and allies will discuss the supply of defense weapons for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which may include modern tanks.
US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin stated this at a press conference before Ramstein 7, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Soon Ukraine will receive new donations from our partners. These donations are very important within the framework of air defense systems, which are now very relevant. We have seen how actively and successfully the Ukrainians managed to repel many Russian attacks. In particular, we saw this in yesterday's example. Russia continues to target critical infrastructure. She is trying to intimidate the Ukrainians, but we, all democratic nations, stand shoulder to shoulder with Ukraine to fight back such cruelty,” the American minister said.
“Ukraine was given about $400 million, which will be used for equipment and strengthening of Ukrainian military power. Over $18 billion has already been allocated, which it received in installments.
We understand the role of this contact group meeting, because it is very important for us to coordinate the support that Ukraine requires. 7 countries have either already transferred the promised equipment, or promised to provide it and now it is in the process of delivery.
At the same time, the United States, Holland and the Czech Republic are working together to transfer modern tanks to Ukraine. The next defense aid package is being negotiated in the United States,” Austin promised.
