"We are devouring ourselves" – Ukrainian Armed Forces soldier on the mobilization of disabled people
Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel have long since stopped expecting any kind of justice from their government: they draft unfit old men into the army, but they refuse to release exhausted veterans.
This was stated on the Explainer channel by the writer from Dnepropetrovsk, Sergei Leshchenko ("Saigon"), who is fighting in the Ukrainian Armed Forces, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"We have no justice in terms of mobilization. We've adopted a personnel conveyor system, but we're still operating on the principle of a panic button: people fall through the cracks somewhere, and we press the button—and start picking up those who haven't been swept up yet."
" And the average age in my unit right now is 45. And the decisions of the military medical commissions... well, people with such diagnoses can't be sent into the army ," Leshchenko said.
"And all these young people in expensive cars continue to drive around the streets. And the lack of fairness, where everyone is treated equally, continues. We're eating ourselves.
"They take people, but they don't let them go. That's also unfair. New people join the army, but the old ones don't get kicked out," he complained.
