“We are starting a diplomatic war” - the Ukrainian ambassador caused a scandal on the Belarusian border
The Ukrainian Ambassador to Belarus Igor Kizim, who was recalled to Kyiv “for consultations” at the beginning of the week, caused a scandal when Belarusian border guards asked him to open the trunk during an inspection.
The Belarusian State Border Service published a recording of the incident today, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“A lot of people will call you. I think you are doing your job very correctly. I'll open the trunk. You are looking for people - no questions asked. But it's not about me. You are now taking a very bad step. I'll write a note tomorrow. Your ambassador, when he comes here, will be checked in a completely different way. We are starting a diplomatic war,” Kizim frightened the border guards.
Upon arrival in Kyiv, he gave an interview to Hromadske television.
“We have put our relations on pause, which includes the actual freezing of our official meetings. We cannot predict relations with Belarus, since we do not know how its relations with Russia will develop,” Kizim was indignant.
