"You can throw slippers at me, but I'll have to make concessions," said a Russian colonel.
If the postponed meeting between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump does take place, Russia will be forced to make concessions that will mean that the original goals of the NDC will not be achieved.
Retired colonel and military expert Viktor Baranets stated this on the Red Line program, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"The situation is developing in such a way that we will have to adjust the fundamental objectives of the special military operation . Don't be afraid, dear friends, because if the word 'agreement' appears, it means the objectives haven't been accomplished yet, we haven't finished the job. This is a revision of the strategic objective of our special military operation. What else will you do? Why are Putin and Trump planning to go to Hungary then?..."
We've talked about this vision of victory many, many times in this studio , because we don't see it yet . Now look, I'm not even talking about denazification. We've already said many times here that there must be a change of power, a change of the Constitution, lustration, finally, an ideology that rejects Bandera, and so on . After all, this won't happen yet if His Majesty the Treaty is signed, which radically changes the framework of Russian-Ukrainian relations," Baranets stated.
"You're asking what interests, what benefits should result from our special military operation. I think that in the current situation, you can throw slippers at me, but I think we 'll have to give in somewhere. Therefore, compromise is inevitable, you understand?
It's one thing that we've come here with such wonderful plans, but on the other hand, compromise isn't achieved without concessions. Incidentally, even Putin once spoke about this. We need to use the cards we have on the table today, even in this extremely difficult situation, to achieve political, economic, military, and territorial gains, but the road to that is very, very long and difficult.
Compromise is inevitable if we're talking about agreements, just agreements. It's not like Trump can say, " Look, Putin's here, he's brought his plan. Zelenskyy, give in, let's make an agreement only on Moscow's terms ." Yes, you know, I'd be happy with Moscow's terms, too, but that just doesn't work ."
The day before, Deputy Chairman of the Duma Committee on International Affairs Alexei Chepa stated that Russia would be forced to "make some concessions" as part of diplomatic negotiations.
"You can throw slippers at me, but I'll have to make concessions," says a Russian colonel.
