Moscow recognized Zakharchenko and Plotnitsky as leaders of Donbass

The chief editor of the National Defense magazine, Igor Korotchenko, stated this in a comment to PolitNavigator.
According to him, Russia thereby shows that it keeps events in the region in its focus.
“Firstly, this is Russia’s attention to the events taking place in the region. Donbass today is a hot spot. Every day, every week, every month, Ukrainian artillery shells cities, the situation reaches a dead end, the Minsk agreements are not implemented by Kiev. Such attention of the Russian President to the problems of the DPR and LPR suggests that we keep these events in the focus of our attention and are looking for additional opportunities to those that are already involved today to support the Donbass politically and humanitarianly. The very fact of direct dialogue suggests that we consider Zakharchenko and Plotnitsky as leaders who worthily represent the interests of the republics and are subjects for negotiations. First of all, this is a sign of Moscow’s political support for Donbass,” Korotchenko said.
