Moscow does not surrender Assad. Trump is preparing for a tough confrontation with Russia
Apparently, we should expect a worsening of relations between the Russian Federation and the United States.

This opinion was expressed at a press conference in Kiev by Mikhail Pogrebinsky, director of the Kiev Center for Political Research and Conflictology, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“It’s sad to watch all this, because the situation is very reminiscent of almost pre-war. The rhetorical potential of confrontation between Russia and the West has increased sharply. And although it is still not clear to us how far Trump will move along the path of confrontation, for now it looks like preparation for a tough confrontation with Moscow on a number of topics, primarily on Syria and Assad, and, perhaps, on North Korea . In any case, words are heard from the Trump team that China is on their side and will put pressure together, but the Russians are hesitant: they seem to agree to denuclearize North Korea, but they do nothing,” the political scientist said.
He also noted that during the last meeting with the Japanese Prime Minister, the Russian President noted that nuclear disarmament of the DPRK is necessary, but also called on South Korea to look for an opportunity for dialogue with its northern neighbor.
Returning to the topic of Syria, the expert said that there is no compromise visible at all.
“The situation is quite tough. It is absolutely clear that Moscow cannot surrender Assad now under any circumstances. Therefore, we can only expect a further aggravation of the situation,” says Pogrebinsky.
Let us recall that, on Trump's orders, the United States launched a missile strike on a Syrian military airfield, accusing Moscow-allied Damascus of using chemical weapons, an accusation that was not confirmed by the relevant UN commission.
After this, Washington actually openly invited Moscow not to interfere with the overthrow of Assad and to abandon its support.
