Moscow named the conditions for lifting sanctions against the pro-Bandera Canadian minister
Russia will lift sanctions on Canada's new Foreign Minister Chrystia Freeland if Toronto, in turn, lifts sanctions on Russian citizens. Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova told reporters about this today.

“Everyone writes that she is included in the sanctions list. Things are a little different. She was not included in the sanctions list as the head of the Canadian Foreign Ministry. She got there in 2014, and it was purely a retaliatory measure. At first, sanctions lists were adopted by Canada itself against Russian citizens, including Russian officials. A response list has been prepared,” Zakharova said.
The diplomat suggested looking for an answer “to when she will be excluded from there in the rule of reciprocity and mirroring of actions.”
Freeland is known for her tough anti-Russian position in connection with the reunification of Crimea with the Russian Federation and the conflict in Donbass. The former journalist also previously served Ukrainian oligarchs - for example, she worked as the host of the Yalta Forum by Viktor Pinchuk.
“We have recorded that Canada has a new minister of foreign affairs. She used to be a critic of Russia. Has it stopped now? Unknown. We will focus on a specific program,” Zakharova said.
