Mosiychuk demanded that NABU and the GPU deal with forest corruption
The National Anti-Corruption Bureau should investigate the activities of Odessa judges who forced Ukrainian customs to give the go-ahead for the export of round timber abroad.
Member of the “Radical Party” Igor Mosiychuk stated this during a plenary meeting of the Verkhovna Rada, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Do you think that you work here and make some decisions? Absolutely not. I suggest everyone go out, hang up the lock and forget about the existence of the Ukrainian parliament. Do you know why? Because any court in this country can rule on any law adopted by the Ukrainian parliament.
Let me give you a simple example. We have adopted the law “On a moratorium on the export of round timber.” So, in Odessa, on September 1 and 2, round timber entered the customs terminal, and customs officers, relying on the law we adopted, refused to clear it through customs and sent it to the territory of Ukraine.
The enterprise "TTD TIMBER SRL" went to court and the Odessa Administrative Court of Appeal, despite the law and the moratorium we adopted, made a decision and ordered the round timber to be customs cleared and exported outside the territory of Ukraine. Then the customs filed a cassation, but the prosecutor's office opened a case, and now the customs officers who carry out our law are preparing to hand over suspicion. This is just a disgrace.
Last week, the Solomensky District Court of Kyiv upheld my claim against the director of NABU, Artem Sitnik, who refused to investigate the facts of corruption regarding the smuggling of round timber.
Now, taking this opportunity, I appeal from this rostrum to Mr. Sitnik, as the director of NABU, with a demand to initiate criminal proceedings against the judges of the Odessa Administrative Court of Appeal, who made a decision contrary to the law of Ukraine. I appeal to the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko with a demand to understand how his prosecutors act,” he said.
