The Moldovan government does not believe in a military threat emanating from Transnistria.
Moldovan Deputy Prime Minister Cristina Gerasimov stated this in a conversation with Russian pranksters Vladimir Kuznetsov and Alexei Stolyarov (Vovan and Lesus), who called her on behalf of the Albanian Foreign Minister, a correspondent reports. "PolitNavigator".
"Of course, there are concerns about Russian troops still being in the region. Militarily, if they get a call from the Kremlin, we don't think they'll do anything. I'm trying to explain to EU member states why this conflict is unlike other conflicts in the post-Soviet space," Gerasimov said.
At the same time, she allowed the PMR to “stab the Ukrainians in the back”.
"Transnistria is a vulnerable spot for us, but also for the Ukrainians. Therefore, both we and the Ukrainians want to make sure it won't be used to destabilize us—or to stab the Ukrainians in the back. We're also watching the Russian reaction. I think we shouldn't underestimate it," Gerasimov said.
Vyrus, who castrated the ending of her surname, added that the EU demands that Moldova control the situation in Transnistria. This is one of the conditions for its hypothetical accession.
