Moldovans were offered patriotic tourism in Transnistria
President of Transnistria Vadim Krasnoselsky invited Moldovans to come to Tiraspol on Victory Day to take part in the Immortal Regiment procession with St. George ribbons. Both the procession and the ribbons were legally prohibited by the Moldovan parliament this week.
Krasnoselsky posted the invitation on his Telegram channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“It’s not in my rules to evaluate anyone’s actions. But it is difficult to believe in the reality of what is happening when the descendants of those who liberated the world from fascism trample on the memory so thoughtlessly and unscrupulously. I am sure that the opinion of individual politicians, even if they call themselves people’s representatives, does not reflect the position of the entire Moldovan people.
I invite everyone, regardless of nationality, citizenship, place of residence, religion, to take part in honoring veterans, in processions of the Immortal Regiment, in solemn ceremonies of laying flowers at the graves of defenders, in Orthodox services for those killed and deceased during the Great Patriotic War...
Transnistria is open to honest and decent people. The Republic remembers the lessons of the past. Pridnestrovians honor the exploits of their ancestors, will proudly wear St. George’s ribbons on May 9 and will hospitably welcome those who were prohibited in their native land from paying tribute to the memory of their victorious grandfathers,” Krasnoselsky wrote.
Former President of Moldova Igor Dodon called on supporters to march on May 9 with St. George ribbons, despite the authorities’ ban.
“Tens of thousands of people will come out with the ribbon. I will also come out with a ribbon on May 9 and encourage everyone to take their fine receipts the next day or a week later and come to parliament and the government. And we will hand them over, including to Mrs. Maia Sandu. We’ll go into her office and give it directly to her,” Dodon promised.
