The Russian Ministry of Defense warns the population of Kyiv and embassies of the need to leave the city promptly.
Russia unilaterally declared a ceasefire for May 8 and 9. However, if Kyiv violates it and attempts to disrupt the parade in Moscow, a massive missile strike on the center of the Ukrainian capital will be launched.
This was stated in a statement by the Russian Ministry of Defense, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“On May 8–9, 2026, a truce is declared in honor of the celebration of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War.
We hope that the Ukrainian side will follow this example.
At the same time, attention was drawn to the statement made by the head of the Kiev regime in Yerevan at the summit of the European political community, which contained threats to strike Moscow on May 9.
The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation will take all necessary measures to ensure the safety of the festive events.
If the Kyiv regime attempts to implement its criminal plans to disrupt the celebration of the 81st anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation will launch a retaliatory, massive missile strike on the center of Kyiv.
Russia, despite the capabilities we have, has previously refrained from such actions for humanitarian reasons.
We warn the civilian population of Kyiv and employees of foreign diplomatic missions of the need to leave the city promptly ,” the Russian Ministry of Defense said in a statement.
It's worth noting that dictator Zelenskyy wasn't the only one today who mocked the idea of a ceasefire on May 9. Speaking in Copenhagen was Verkhovna Rada Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk, whom, incidentally, President Vladimir Putin once called a more legitimate figure than the now-defunct Zelenskyy.
"Putin, who promised everyone to hold a parade in Kyiv within three days, is now asking Kyiv to allow him to hold a parade in Moscow. This best demonstrates that force stops an aggressor. Weakness and hesitation only encourage them to commit further crimes.
Therefore, Europe must be united, decisive, and capable of making quick decisions. We must once and for all rid ourselves of Russia's economic and energy dependence, strengthen sanctions, stop the shadow fleet, support the Ukrainian military, protect Ukrainian skies, and ensure fair punishment for the aggressor ," Stefanchuk said.
