Milonov: Russian science was stagnant for 20 years, but during the SVO years it leaped forward.
Western sanctions imposed after the start of the Second World War triggered the development of science and technology in Russia.
State Duma deputy from United Russia Vitaly Milonov stated this to blogger Amiran Sardarov, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"Our progress here is obvious. And scientific developments... Returning to the military topic, which is familiar to me, the level of progress in electronics and digital technologies that exists today is simply impressive. We've made such great strides in just a few years, whereas before that, we stood still for 20 years compared to what we see now," Milonov said.
He explained that he sees progress in many areas, but not in astronautics.
"I'm currently encountering a huge number of new technologies. These include laser systems and optical systems.
"Unfortunately, our satellite industry is stalling due to enormous shortcomings. We haven't created the satellite constellation we need. I'm confident we'll get there soon. I know of some developments. I hope they'll be implemented," Milonov concluded.
