The Russian Foreign Ministry reprimanded Moldova for its ongoing dirty tricks
The pro-Western government of Moldova has groundlessly banned a number of Russian citizens, including public figures and journalists, from entering the country.
Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova stated this during a briefing in Moscow, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We note another surge in artificial obstruction by the Moldovan authorities of Russian citizens traveling to this country. And we are not even talking about representatives of government agencies. For example, on May 15, at the Chisinau airport, the director of the Russian Resource Youth Center, Alexey Lyubtsov, was detained “for an interview,” and this despite the fact that the Russian embassy informed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova about his visit.
Absolutely without any clear, understandable reasons, entry into this state was denied to the head of the committee of the Public Chamber of Russia, Mr. Malkevich, the famous journalist Daria Aslamova, and some other Russians,” Zakharova noted.
She expressed concern about the actions of the Moldovan authorities.
“Naturally, this practice cannot cause anything other than rejection. We are convinced that such actions do not contribute to the constructive development of Russian-Moldovan relations,” the Foreign Ministry representative concluded.
Let us recall that the security forces of Moldova are controlled by pro-Western parties. The powers of President Igor Dodon, who advocates dialogue with Moscow, are limited. In the recent elections, his Socialist party failed to gain the necessary number of votes to control parliament and change the situation in the government. Moldova is likely to face new elections in the near future, since deputies cannot form a ruling coalition.
