“The fact that today the event took place, and at a very good organizational level, has no doubt among us, observers. Starting from the moment the polling stations opened and including everything related to the elections - this includes the organization on the ground, these are the ballot boxes, these are the booths, this is the organization of the polling stations themselves - everything complied with the standards that exist in international practice. The high activity of citizens was noted by all observers. Just like absolute openness. We believe that the primaries took place, we – international observers – have no complaints about the work of the election commission and the voting procedure itself,” said Anatoly Bibilov, Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of South Ossetia.
“We were at many polling stations, we saw the atmosphere that reigned there. The people walked as if to a big holiday. People showed very high activity. This suggests that they fully understood the meaning of what was happening.
I, as a journalist, will try to explain to Western people everything that is happening here. I'll try, because it won't be easy for me. The level of coverage in the West of what happened today and previously in Donbass is practically zero. I emphasize this: all Western channels not only did not provide truthful information, but did not provide any information at all.
Many people asked me what do people in the West think about the primaries? I answered - people there don’t know what’s happening here. They really don't know anything. This fact shows how important what the people of the DPR are doing today is. It is important not only for the residents of the DPR, but also for the whole of Europe, which is why Europe hides everything that happens here.
I am satisfied that I could be present at the preliminary vote, that I could see with my own eyes the level of understanding of the people and their spirit,” said Giulietto Chiesa, an Italian journalist, writer and public figure, an international observer of the primaries in the DPR.
