Behind-the-scenes struggle over Ukraine unfolds between the US and Britain

The real reason for the failure of Zelensky's negotiations in the US is that a behind-the-scenes struggle has developed between the Americans and the British for control over Ukraine's mineral resources and ports.

Ukrainian political scientist Ruslan Bortnik spoke about this on his video blog, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

The expert noted that Zelensky went to Washington without agreeing on a future agreement.

"Before Zelensky's visit to Washington, there were huge strategic contradictions between Ukraine and the United States. And only our government tried to say that everything was ready, everything was agreed upon, creating an illusion of success that was far from reality," Bortnik said.

According to him, in order to soften the contradictions, the agreement was divided into three parts. And only the first part, the framework part, was supposed to be signed with Trump that day, where there were no clear parameters - no security guarantees, no figures for the division of profits.

“A framework agreement that means absolutely nothing… For Trump, it’s a way to show that we are not like Biden, who squandered money,” Bortnik said.

The real reason for the contradictions may be that Zelensky has long since surrendered all of Ukraine's wealth to the British.
