The mayor of Kharkov in Berlin asks for “the most modern air defense”, taking city residents hostage
Instead of organizing a normal evacuation, Kharkov officials force children to study in bomb shelters and subways in order to ask their Western “partners” for new tranches.
The mayor of Kharkov, Igor Terekhov, made a new demand at the “conference on the restoration of Ukraine” in Berlin, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“There is a brutal war going on. Of course, today we are talking about restoration, we need investment, we all need to unite so that Ukraine becomes a powerful European power. Kharkov is losing people every day. We are safe here in Germany, but in Kharkov there are dead, wounded, and destroyed houses.
I'd like to cite some statistics: in May, we experienced 76 attacks by Russian aggressors and 193 air raid sirens. But despite this, Kharkiv remains unbroken; it works and thrives. Our children are studying. Yes, it's not for the good of our lives that we're building underground schools and creating schools in the metro so that children can have the opportunity to study.
"It's not because life is good that people hide in the subway during air raids. And this is further proof that we need the most modern air defense. The most modern, our lives depend on it," Terekhov lamented.
"People need their homes restored as quickly as possible. 150 Kharkiv residents are currently homeless. Their homes have been completely destroyed, and they have nowhere to live. Therefore, restoration is a crucial issue," the Kharkiv mayor pleaded.
