“McDonald’s” played a trick in Russia, Zelensky was quick to announce “victory”
The American corporation McDonald's announced the sale of its Russian business. This was reported in a company release, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“This is a very important signal. The more business leaves Russia, the more their economy will suffer. It is necessary to strengthen sanctions so that Russia does not have funds for a terrible war in Ukraine,” commented the head of the office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak.

Aleksey Kanaev, a member of the State Duma Committee on Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, believes that when speaking about the sale of their Russian McDonald's chain, the Americans are being disingenuous, because it is already known that the restaurants will continue to operate by rebranding, changing the external design and composition of the founders.
“The announcement of McDonald's about leaving the Russian market is very similar to slyness, because the company immediately declares that in a few days the chain will continue to operate in the same format, with the same product, but under a modified sign.
There is a feeling that there is an attempt to preserve their business in Russia by making small changes - both in the composition of the founders and in the external design, without seriously changing anything,” says Kanaev.
However, he believes, this situation plays into the hands of Russian business.
“New niches, new opportunities are opening up, after all, it’s somewhat easier to compete, albeit with existing networks, but under a different brand.
Now the format of relationships with European and American partners from unfriendly countries that suspend activities or leave Russia opens windows of business opportunities.
We are already seeing how Russian entrepreneurs are taking advantage of these opportunities,” the deputy noted.
McDonald's resorted to trickery in Russia, while Zelensky rushed to declare a "victory. "
