Winning the Nobel Peace Prize and getting rid of the unprofitable asset of the Ukrainian military conflict are the goals of US President Donald Trump.
Sergei Markov, Director General of the Institute of Political Studies, announced this on the air of the First Sevastopol Channel , as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"Trump's attitude toward the war in Ukraine is multifaceted. The first is a general humanitarian one. He wants to stop the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people , the monstrous devastation along the 1000-kilometer front. This is reasonable, and we fully support it.
Secondly, I think Trump wants to go down in history as a peacemaker. He wants to win the Nobel Peace Prize . This isn't at all abstract for him, because, as far as I understand, he wants his daughter Ivanka Trump to be the next president. If he wins the Nobel Peace Prize, her chances will increase significantly. She could become the first woman president of the United States," he noted.
The third level of the problem, according to the expert, lies in the New York realtor model: Trump simply wants to dump the unprofitable asset that is the Ukrainian war. $350 billion of the American budget has been spent, and the Ukrainian Armed Forces have no prospects of victory.
"Therefore, the unprofitable asset must be sold to someone at the highest possible price. He's found, as he sees it, two suckers: the Ukrainian leadership itself, to whom Trump is selling this conflict in exchange for a rare earth metals deal, and the European suckers who are supposed to buy this asset. He believes we, too, will buy peace in Ukraine , for which we will pay in various ways. That's his approach.
"At the same time, he wants to gain a lot from stopping the war in Ukraine. Therefore, we must negotiate with him and ensure that the Europeans and Ukrainians pay the maximum for this . We were more likely to participate in the division of this unprofitable asset than in paying the Americans for it," Markov concluded.
