“The Kremlin is preparing for a large-scale provocation against Ukraine on the territory of Belarus. It is with this that preparations for a 5-fold increase in the volume of railway transportation of the Russian Defense Ministry in 2017 in the direction of Belarus may be connected. The purpose of such an action could be the liquidation of the Lukashenko regime, the introduction of Russian troops, direct government control, as well as the direct entry of the Russian Armed Forces to the eastern border of the European Union in order to increase political pressure on Europe. A provocation can be carried out with the participation of citizens who took part in hostilities in the Donbass... as well as infiltrated agents in the law enforcement agencies of the Republic of Belarus,” Frieze assures.
It's worth noting that Belarus has been increasingly featured in statements by Maidan activists in the Verkhovna Rada recently. Recently, the head of the Rada's Foreign Affairs Committee, Anna Hopko, warned of a threat of Belarus invading Ukraine.
As is known, Belarus, India, China, and a number of other countries yesterday spoke out at the UN against a resolution proposed by Ukraine on human rights violations in Russian Crimea.
