“We are dealing with a thug whose name is Vladimir Putin,” McCain said.

The American senator called for an increase in the presence of NATO troops in those countries that, in his opinion, are allegedly threatened by Russia.

He also expressed hope that NATO's show of solidarity and cooperation with the United States would make it clear to Putin that when he attacks someone, there will be a strong, united response.
