Makarevich assures that he did not perform in Slavyansk “in front of the Nazis and punitive forces”
Musician and participant in liberal marches in support of the nationalist ruling regime of Ukraine, Andrei Makarevich, assures that he did not perform “in front of the Nazis and punitive forces” in Slavyansk shortly after its capture by the Ukrainian army, when the city was being cleansed of supporters of the Russian Spring.
Makarevich stated this in an interview with Deutsche Welle, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“I came to Slavyansk for half a day to speak to refugees. Moreover, these were not just refugees, but mostly children, but with their parents. I played a concert for them. Thanks to my visit, funds were raised, I think, for a whole trailer of diapers and basic necessities for refugees and refugee children.
I don’t know what outraged our authorities so much, but from this they made a surprisingly tenacious lie, which is still supported by all sorts of bots regarding the fact that I went to perform in front of military units, Nazis and punitive forces - bullshit,” said the musician.
“People allow themselves to believe all the nonsense that is “rubbed” into them. I feel sorry for these people. On the other hand, they are not very interesting to me. What, am I going to run around and convince them one by one?” – added Makarevich.
At the same time, he assures that now he has no problems with concerts in the Russian Federation, as was the case after the scandal with his visit to Slavyansk. “It didn’t come from the Kremlin. These are the local authorities, excited by this whole television campaign, so they showed their initiative,” concluded Makarevich.
