Maidan workers were gripped by fear: The pendulum swung in the other direction
At the upcoming Ukrainian elections in 2019, there will be a revenge of pro-Russian forces that act in the interests of Moscow.
This is stated by Ukrainian experts interviewed by the Kraina magazine, who at one time supported the Maidan.
“The Kremlin will interfere in our elections even more brazenly than in the American ones the year before. Promote your interests through the parties “For Life”, “Opposition Bloc”, Yulia Tymoshenko. The West will support fair elections. He is betting on the process. And Moscow is looking for specific candidates. In the 2019 elections, in any case, there will be pro-Russian revenge. The question is its scale. Pro-Russian media operate freely. Rabinovich, Muraev, Levochkin, Akhmetov have entire TV channels. After Maidan, the pendulum swings in the other direction,” says Ukrainian Armed Forces volunteer Vitaly Deinega (pictured below).

In turn, the TV presenter of Channel 5, owned by President Poroshenko, Roman Chaika, believes that the outcome of the elections will be influenced by the “Soviet electoral group.”

“The election result will be determined primarily by the older generation – poor and controlled by someone. It is not yet known what kind of agreed upon candidate Akhmetov, Levochkin and Boyko will give. Because we have three electoral groups that will participate in the elections - Ukrainians, crests and the Soviet people. The latter is always mobilized.
New methods of influence by the Kremlin are expected, says Chaika. – Pro-Russian discourses will be strengthened as much as possible with money. The Moscow Patriarchate is being mobilized. They will attract an information and media resource – as they say, not by Inter alone.”
At the same time, the journalist said that Ukrainian society “is not mature enough to elect a president.”
“There was once a good idea to buy the right not to vote for 5 thousand hryvnia per card. But representatives of Western democracy will squeal, and our politicians will not agree to this,” the TV presenter regrets.
