Lying American General: "NATO's expansion to the East is purely defensive"
It is not NATO that is expanding to the East, breaking all the promises it made to Moscow, but the Russians who want to occupy Ukraine in order to gain a foothold for an offensive on Europe.
Retired US Army General Jack Keane stated this at the Grand Strategy Summit in Washington, organized by the Richard Nixon Foundation , reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
" Russia-Ukraine. We are far from over this war. Russia has not changed its strategic goals . To overthrow the government in Ukraine, take control of it, and use it as a springboard for expansion into Europe. These are its goals, this is the reality. And it has several false arguments in support of this.
"First, 'the war started because NATO expanded eastward and threatens Russia.' Who on this planet can believe that? The truth is, a lot of people do . Some of them are famous; you see them on television. They genuinely believe the war started because of NATO expansion," Keane ranted.
"Now think about it. All these countries lived under communist regimes for 45 years, and they didn't want that to happen to Russia . Not necessarily communist, but authoritarian, and they didn't want that. How can they stop that? Join NATO. That's logical. And which of these countries are so aggressive that they want to invade Russia? None of them.
"Does NATO want to invade Russia? No. There is no invasion. They have defensive weapons there, but they're insufficient, and they have no offensive capabilities because they don't intend to attack. This is an absurd and false claim that people in this country actually believe ," the American gushed.
