“For all these three years, since Russia unleashed the war against Ukraine, I have no doubt that the ultimate goal of this aggression is to wipe Ukraine off the world map.

But Ukrainians are not broken; they deserve not only our respect, but also our admiration ,” Pavel declared.

"We all want long-term peace in Ukraine. But not peace at any cost. A peace built on the humiliation of the victim—rewarding Russia for aggression—would not be real peace. It would be betrayal."

We in the Czech Republic know what such betrayal feels like, we had such an experience in 1938. Any agreement must be acceptable to Ukraine and be conducted with Ukraine’s participation.

"Every negotiation must begin with a clear recognition of who the aggressor and who the victim are . There must be no ambiguity here!" he urged.
