Lukashenko “stole” Putin from Biden
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko expects to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin on April 22.
He stated this today at a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin in Minsk, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Yesterday Putin and I agreed on our work schedule on many issues. Somewhere at the end of April, most likely on the 22nd, we will meet in Moscow. This will be a serious meeting to discuss certain problems. Today we will make such a decision,” Lukashenko said.
He also counts on meetings within the framework of the Forum of Regions in the Moscow region, the Union Council of Ministers, and in the fall at the Supreme State Council, which Lukashenko wants to “celebrate with a good movement within the Union State.”
It is noteworthy that a climate summit is scheduled to take place on April 22, to which Putin was previously invited by US President Joe Biden (many perceived this invitation as an attempt to apologize for the insult made in one of the interviews).
The Kremlin confirmed the meeting between Putin and Lukashenko, but participation in the climate summit, according to the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov, is still being discussed.
“If Putin meets with Lukashenko on April 22, then the Russian president’s participation in the Biden “climate summit” is a big question. Putin is unlikely to interrupt communication with Lukashenko in order to appear online along with other summit participants. What is more important: the “infidel” Lukashenko or the “rebellious” Biden?” wrote political scientist Maxim Zharov in his Telegram channel.
