Lukashenko will remind Ukraine of ingratitude and betrayal
Belarus and its president supported Ukraine on many important issues, and President Alexander Lukashenko will perceive the adoption by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of a resolution on non-recognition of elections in Belarus as a betrayal.
Political scientist Alexander Bulavin stated this in a comment to a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“In non-recognition of the elections in Belarus, Ukraine stood in solidarity with the United States and some European countries. Perhaps this is a forced move. But for Belarusian voters, their own opinion is more important than the opinion of Ukraine.
Of course, there is some part of voters who do not recognize these elections. The fact that people come to rallies in Belarus is a more important symptom than the recognition or non-recognition of the elections by the Rada. This is the question of legitimizing Lukashenko’s power, his headache, his problem. He needs to somehow interact with these people.

As for the Ukrainian parliament, this is its decision. But we must take into account that in one of his interviews Lukashenko said that he did not expect betrayal from the government and the president of Ukraine - after all, he supported her.
Indeed, he did not recognize Crimea as Russian; he provided support and assistance to the Ukrainian authorities. And in this situation, Belarus will regard the Rada’s decision as a betrayal in matters of cooperation between the two countries,” said Alexander Bulavin.
