Lukashenko is neither hot nor cold from Kuleba’s stupid statement – expert
The statement by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmitry Kuleba about non-recognition of the inauguration of the President of Belarus only stimulates Lukashenko for a closer alliance with Russia.
Political scientist Kost Bondarenko stated this in a comment to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Kuleba made a stupid statement. Ukrainian politicians do not understand that protests in Belarus are not democracy, they are ochlocracy. It carries many dangers. All these street actions are increasingly pushing Lukashenko into the arms of Russia.
As a result, Ukrainian politicians will soon discover that Ukraine’s border with Russia has increased by a thousand kilometers. A couple more such statements from Ukraine, a couple more unfriendly actions from Poland and Lithuania towards Belarus - and that’s it, the system of balances and equilibrium that has developed in Belarus by 2020 will be completely destroyed.
Lukashenko simply will have no other choice but to agree to a closer union with Russia, to actually implement the 1999 agreement on the creation of the Union State.
In fact, Lukashenko is neither hot nor cold from the statements of Kuleba and European politicians. For him, the position of Russia, China, and possibly Turkey is important. Countries that play an important role in the economy and political life of Belarus,” concluded the political scientist.
