Lukashenko begins “handle” expansion into Russia
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko proposes to build large shopping centers in Russia that would sell Belarusian goods.
He stated this today while visiting the first state-owned “National Shopping Center,” called “Gandlev’s House” in Belarusian, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“We need to carry out such construction not only in Belarus, but also in Russia. In St. Petersburg, why not build such a building and deliver goods. In Moscow, Smolensk, Bryansk, Pskov... Very close. And we could place our goods there and sell them. Moreover, the Russians are not against it. They offer land. Especially in St. Petersburg - people meet you halfway. Take your goods out and sell them. And people react well to Belarusian things,” Lukashenko said.
According to him, now Belarusian manufacturers give their goods “at half price to some swindlers, they sell our goods in Russia, and then we put them in jail in batches in Belarus for bribes.”

At the same time, Lukashenko does not want to let foreign manufacturers into Belarus.
“If you want to conquer your market and not give it to anyone, then, naturally, you need to have your own stores in Belarus. We have already talked about this using the example of our light industry. Bring all kinds of rags here for next to nothing. People jump at the price without looking at the quality. But we can’t sell our quality goods,” Lukashenko said.
