Lutsenko about his “family career”: “I am Poroshenko’s godfather one day a year”
Kyiv, September 22 (PolitNavigator, Victoria Litovchenko) – Advisor to the President of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko does not see a connection between family relations with Petro Poroshenko and the appearance of his wife on the party’s electoral lists.

He told Katya Osadchaya, the host of the program "High Life," about his reaction to the fact that they wanted to throw his wife, Iryna Lutsenko, into a trash bin outside the walls of the Verkhovna Rada , just like Vitaliy Zhuravsky had the day before.
“This is exaggerated information. Indeed, she was on the Verkhovna Rada committees on Bankova. She was surrounded by a group of exalted “ultras” who oppose the special regime of self-government in Donbass. All “hurray-patriots” have every opportunity not to fight with women, but to pick up a machine gun and go to war, as my son did. I am convinced that we have no other way but a pause to modernize the army and reform the economy. With sabers drawn at tanks, it looks very good, but ends very badly,” Lutsenko said.
Osadchaya also reminded him that three months ago he stated that there would not be two Lutsenkos in the Verkhovna Rada of the eighth convocation, while now his wife was on the list of the Petro Poroshenko Bloc along with him.
“I am Poroshenko’s godfather one day a year - on the birthday of our common goddaughter. Regarding Irina, this was the decision of the president, who called her on the last night before the congress and persistently asked her to continue to be the face of the Petro Poroshenko Bloc,” Lutsenko claims.
“I am always responsible for myself and for my actions, including the actions of my wife. I really hope that we will not sit side by side in parliament. I'd like to be involved in executive action. I really believe that Irina has succeeded as a politician, we really think it’s wrong to be together in the Verkhovna Rada, but the president insists that the Petro Poroshenko Bloc and his party require her work. Today she will be a VIP agitator for this bloc, despite the fact that she is in a distant 70th place,” said the presidential adviser.
“I want to be in the executive branch and make a difference. I don't want to be a minister. Sorry, after the prison bunks, all these show-offs with armchairs and Mercedes are not for me. I’ve never suffered from this before, and even more so now,” says the former Minister of Internal Affairs.
Let us remember that in 2013, Yuriy Lutsenko and Petro Poroshenko’s wife Marina baptized the daughter of Verkhovna Rada deputy Yuriy Stets.
