Liberal Russian political scientist Stanislav Belkovsky stated this on the Internet channel “Vlast vs Vlashchenko,” the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The concept of “How Ukraine can give a special status to Donbass” is to introduce the idea of special territories into the Constitution of Ukraine. And if there are not one, but three such special self-governing territories in Ukraine - along with Donbass, for example, Odessa and Transcarpathia, then the problem will go away by itself. Because this is not the result of defeat, but simply Ukraine decided to manage its units this way. This is a very fruitful and strategically beneficial doctrine.
But, unfortunately, there are no people in the Ukrainian government who are able to comprehend this. The aggravation is due to the fact that someone in the Ukrainian government has become overwhelmed by the Karabakh scenario, and it seems that now these rebel units can be defeated, and Russia will not interfere,” Belkovsky said.
He is convinced that the aggressive initiatives of the Kyiv establishment are stupid, because Russia has enough methods to influence the situation.
“I wouldn’t take that risk. Of course, Vladimir Putin does not want new sanctions, disconnection from SWIFT and everything else, and therefore he will not officially send troops into the territory of Ukraine. But this does not mean that he does not have indirect measures to combat it.
Still, let’s not forget that it was Vladimir Putin who initiated the global hybrid war, which began in 2014, and he is a great professional in this matter.
Therefore, if one of the actors in “Kvartal 95” has become too accustomed to the role and thinks that he can start a war and quickly win it, I would advise taking a shower,” the liberal concluded.
