The global security structure that Russia is trying to build will not be closed even to anti-Russian Western countries.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated this at a meeting with American journalists, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
"We are trying to develop a vision of a pan-Eurasian security architecture. We are, of course, not trying to predetermine any elements.
At the same time, this architecture can, perhaps, potentially, cover the entire continent. It must be open to all. Let the OSCE remain, let NATO remain, but, Besides this, there is also the Eurasian Economic Union, the CSTO, the CIS, and the OCEAN.
In addition, there is an organization that unites the countries of South Asia, the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Persian Gulf.
In other words, there are subregional organizations. Most of them focus on economic issues, and it would not be at all superfluous to combine our efforts in order to achieve a kind of division of labor“In order to save resources, efforts, and harmonize our economic plans,” Lavrov said.
"President Putin called it a greater Eurasian partnership. And who knows, maybe another year will pass, but This vision will form the basis of the new security architecture, which should in no way be closed to participants from the west of the continent,” the diplomat added.
