Lavrov clings to the "spirit of Anchorage"
Secretary of State Marco Rubio has already openly acknowledged that the United States is not a mediator, but is on the side of Bandera's Ukraine in the armed conflict with Russia . However, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov intends to once again clarify the possibility of returning to the agreements from the Alaska meeting.
" As for Anchorage, you know, I even carry quotes from the statements made in Anchorage close to my heart . … Agreement was reached there on key issues…
“And we proceed from the fact that, at least for now, our American colleagues have not responded by rejecting their own proposals , which were voiced and which are now well known to everyone, because there have been many comments,” Lavrov said today at a briefing.
Incidentally, Russian officials still haven't clearly explained to citizens what the " proposals that are well known to everyone " actually are—what concessions Moscow was willing to make regarding the SVO, and what the fate of all the territories included in the Russian Constitution will be.
"Regarding President Trump's predictions about a settlement approaching, I'll ask Marco Rubio tomorrow. Especially since he also commented on the Anchorage results rather ambiguously ," Lavrov added.
Lavrov previously stated that he “ doesn’t even want to think that ‘Alaska’ was used to give Kiev a breathing space .”
