The Kursk nuclear power plant is guarded by at least an air defense regiment
The Kursk NPP is sufficiently protected from a possible attack by Ukrainian Armed Forces drones and will continue to operate as normal.
Energy expert Boris Martsinkevich stated this in an interview with Sergei Mardan, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“The physical security system is never disclosed anywhere, but we can see that there are standards in the example of our power plant in Turkey, where the Turkish leadership suddenly had a desire to buy an S-400 division. Everything is more than serious there. I think there should be at least a regiment there. In Soviet times this was exactly the case. As it is now, of course, no one will say out loud,” said Martsinkevich.
He recalled that now 2 of the 4 reactors of the Kursk NPP are shut down, as the Kursk NPP-2 is preparing to launch. Substitution stations are well thought out.
At the same time, the expert doubts that the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, which previously provided 15% of Ukraine’s needs, will be launched, since equipment from the American company Westinghouse is installed there, with which Rosatom does not work. Now the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions are supplied with electricity by Crimea.
