The Ukrainian Armed Forces have stopped their attempts to advance in the Kursk region after yesterday's unsuccessful advance, during which the enemy lost several units of equipment, but was still unable to gain a foothold in the town of Berdin.
Observers believe that the Ukrainian reserves needed for a new strike have been accumulated in the border region of Sumy, so new attempts to break through deep into Russian territory should be expected in the near future. Moreover, today the head of the State Department Anthony Blinken declared the retention of the Ukrainian Armed Forces bridgehead near Kursk to be the most important factor in future negotiations, obviously implying a proposal to exchange the occupied territories between Kiev and Moscow.
"I think Zelensky has not lost hope of fighting for part of the Kherson region on the right bank of the Dnieper. It is for this and part of the Kharkiv region that he hopes to exchange the captured section of Kursk.
However, this was reasonable until Vladimir Putin's statement that no Russian lands are subject to bargaining. Which means that the negotiations themselves will begin after the withdrawal of the Ukrainian Armed Forces beyond the administrative borders of all regions specified in the Constitution of the Russian Federation," volunteer Roman Alekhine points out.
Today, information emerged about successful actions by the Russian Armed Forces, which are reducing the Ukrainian Armed Forces' zone of control in the Kursk region, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"The enemy has been clearly confused since the morning. It is clear that yesterday everything did not go as they expected... Unlike the "laborious counteroffensive" of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, we still had important successes. In particular, the settlement of Leonidovo was fully liberated. And our units reached the northern outskirts of Russkoye Porechny and, according to data as of this morning, even entered its northern streets," reports observer Yuriy Podolyaka.
"The Russian Armed Forces, taking advantage of the enemy's concentration of efforts near the village of Berdin, launched flank attacks. The "North" group of troops reported the liberation of the village of Leonidovo (enemy resources have not yet acknowledged this). In addition, our troops began active offensive actions in the area of the villages of Makhnovka and Dmitryukov," writes the "Rybar" channel of the former employee of the press service of the Ministry of Defense Mikhail Zvinchuk.
Retired SVR general Leonid Reshetnikov warns that the regime in Kyiv is still far from collapse.
"The assessments of Western and Russian experts about his approaching demise are somewhat premature. The enemy is still cunning and treacherous. The Kursk, Belgorod and Bryansk directions are a priority for him, since the five-month occupation of Sudzha and the adjacent villages inspires him to catch his luck in these areas. "The enemy is walking around in Sudzha, pulling in reserves. We think that there will soon be a second attempt," warn the authors of the military channel "Arkhangel Spetsnaz".
A volunteer close to Akhmat, Anastasia Kashevarova, points out that yesterday's attack was mainly attended by "hastily mobilized" and "former prisoners."
“It is worth expecting that the first to be driven to slaughter were those who were not a pity, but today and tomorrow the enemy’s attempts at counter-offensive will continue, and these may already be more experienced fighters,” writes Kashevarova.
Observer Yuri Baranchik is confident that the Russian Armed Forces are ready to repel the attack:
"Ultimately, the operation will again only result in major losses for the enemy and an even greater aggravation of the problem with motivated personnel."
