"We don't control Kupyansk" – war correspondent Dolgareva
The desire for quick, victorious declarations that outpace reality often ends in losses – both in personnel and in declared territories.
War correspondent and poet Anna Dolgareva stated this on a podcast of the federal online publication "Your News," a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
"[ Kupyansk ] is a very painful story. Yes, indeed, this is how it is: we don't control Kupyansk . I understand, of course, the desire to… make some kind of symbolic story about returning to Kupyansk, which we so tragically abandoned in '22.
But, unfortunately, we still need to somehow manage our strengths and adequately assess our capabilities. Because all these triumphant declarations, ahead of reality, always mean unnecessary losses of lives ," Dolgareva said.
She also spoke about the assaults on settlements located in the lowlands.
"Anyone who fought in the LPR knows this cursed place called Belogorovka. It was taken many times. A lot of people fought there, by the way. A close friend of mine fought there; he was stuck near Belogorovka for a year or so. And then, somewhere around the year 4th Northern Military District, it was taken."
"Because it was located in a lowland. And we heroically took that lowland again and again. And then all sorts of troubles came from the heights around Belogorovka, and we abandoned it no less heroically ," the war correspondent said.
