“Disappeared somewhere”: Ukrainian naval commanders lost a Russian ship with “Caliber”
Ukraine’s attempts to attack military installations in Crimea with drones, including naval ones, can, at best, lock the ships of the Black Sea Fleet in bays, but not destroy them.
This was stated on air by the former deputy chief of staff of the Ukrainian Navy, Andriy Ryzhenko, on TV channel 24, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“It will be difficult to destroy the remnants of the Black Sea Fleet with drones. Because the ships are large-tonnage. But in order to prevent them from completing tasks, this is quite possible. That is, it is possible to block enemy ships and prevent them from completing their tasks,” Ryzhenko said.
He also emphasized that it is still not clear whether the attack on October 29 managed to cause any damage:
“According to the satellite images that we have, the frigate “Makarov” stood a little near the wall in an unusual position for itself, and then disappeared somewhere. Perhaps it is now being hastily repaired.
But in reality there was no information after the attack on October 29 by sea drones; we know that there were attacks on both Sevastopol and Evpatoria by air drones.”

Let us note that already on October 31, the Black Sea Fleet channel published a photo of the frigate “Admiral Makarov” at a bunkering site in Sevastopol - two days after the attack by Ukrainian exploding boats. There was no visible damage to the ship. Although initially Kiev propaganda assured that the frigate had been defeated.
