Someone high-ranking obtained parole for actor Efremov, a favorite of foreign agents
Actor Mikhail Efremov, sentenced in 2020 to 7,5 years in prison for killing a person in a traffic accident, may soon be released. The administration of the correctional colony where Efremov is serving his sentence approved his request for parole.
This was announced by the Chairman of the Moscow Public Monitoring Commission, Georgy Volkov, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The decision on release will have to be made by the court.
The actor, while driving a jeep, drove into the oncoming lane on the Garden Ring and crashed into a van. The driver of the van, Sergei Zakharov, died in hospital. The examination showed that Efremov was drunk at the time of the accident.
Last year, Efremov asked to volunteer for the Northern Military District, but he was not accepted.
Political scientist Sergei Markov recalls in his tg channel that Efremov previously took part in scandalous projects that criticized the Russian authorities.
“The country has changed very much during this time. Has Efremov changed? We'll find out soon. Efremov has many friends in the Russian elite. I think there are many potential traitors among his friends,” Markov wrote.
Publicist Sergei Mardan believes that Efremov easily adapts to changed circumstances.
“Not even a year will pass before we see Mikhail Efremov in the title role of some film “about the Northern Military District” and something spiritual and patriotic,” predicts Mardan.
