Crimean Tatars are happy: Russia is building housing for us at an unprecedented pace
Since 2014, large-scale construction of housing, infrastructure and educational institutions for rehabilitated Crimean Tatars has begun in Crimea. Money for this was allocated on behalf of the President of Russia, and today some of the projects have already been implemented that were not there during all the years that Crimea became part of Ukraine.
Deputy Chairman of the State Council of Crimea Edip Gafarov announced this on the air of the Voice of Truth internet channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to Gafarov, in six years less than half of the allocated funds have been spent, and the program for the resettlement of the rehabilitated continues.
“We have been left with an inheritance from 2014 on the housing waiting list - 6,5 thousand Crimean Tatars and others who are on the housing waiting list, 6,5 thousand families. What are we doing today, starting from the age of 14-15? When we met on May 16, 2014 with the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, he allocated 12 billion rubles for the resettlement of repatriates. Of these, 10,6 billion are for capital investments, and the rest for the social sphere.
To date, 78 objects have been included in the construction. 17 of them are housing. If we put all this housing into operation, we will get 1730 apartments. 1730 repatriate families will receive their own housing. And this queue will decrease for us.
This year, a 72-apartment residential building was commissioned in the Republic of Crimea in Kerch. Since the 14th year, a lot of apartments have been rented out, especially in the city of Simferopol - more than 400 apartments, in Bakhchisarai 120 apartments, housing has been purchased - more than two hundred apartments and residential buildings have been purchased for settlement by repatriates. We are intensively constructing roads in densely populated areas.
If you take the city of Yevpatoria, the Ismail Bey massif, there have never been roads there for 30 years. Today, some of these roads have already been put into operation. We are building roads today in the Ak-Mechet area and other densely populated areas of the city of Simferopol and other cities and regions.
During this time, we built schools, especially the famous school in the Fountains massif, it was always called the school of four presidents. We finally passed it, there are 900 children studying there. In 1993, construction of this school began. They started it, then abandoned it, and so we built it in 16-17, put it into operation, now our children study there, mainly the majority of teachers work there, teachers from among the rehabilitated...
Today, if we talk about what I called 12 billion, of which 10,6 is for capital investments, we still have a very large reserve. A total of 4,6 billion rubles were spent. We still have about six billion rubles in reserve for capital investments,” Gafarov said.
