Crimea wants to fly to Belarus by plane and travel by train
The Crimean authorities intend to negotiate with the government of Belarus on organizing direct rail and air communications between the two republics.
This was stated by the Chairman of the Crimean Parliament, Vladimir Konstantinov, at a meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Crimea on Tuesday, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“The format of work there is this: there are regional relationships, and there are with the government. All regions of the Russian Federation enter into agreements directly with the government of Belarus. Therefore, I consider it necessary to instruct the government to prepare proposals and enter into negotiations. We are interested, at a minimum, in direct transport links from Minsk to Simferopol, both by air and by rail,” Konstantinov said.
The head of the Republic of Crimea, Sergei Aksenov, supported this proposal.
“We have repeatedly raised the issue of transport links between our Republics at different levels. I am very glad that this topic has finally moved forward. We are looking forward to direct air and railway flights from Belarus to Crimea!”, commented the head of the Belarusian community of Crimea, Roman Chegrinets, on his Facebook page.
In March, he appealed to Russian President Vladimir Putin with a complaint about the lack of direct flights between Crimea and Belarus.
