Zelensky's Bloody Provocations Won't Work Anymore – Kedmi
Ukraine will no longer be able to use bloody provocations to change the US position.
The former head of the Israeli special service "Nativ" Yakov Kedmi stated this in an interview with TV journalist Alexander Waldman, reports a correspondent for "PolitNavigator".
The presenter asked whether Zelensky could use the attack on Sumy to disrupt the negotiations.
" Sumy isn't a new factor. And the United States has taken a completely sober view of this . They say the human casualties weren't targeted; no one intended to hit that bus, trolleybus, or whatever it was. The targets were military. The fact that civilians were injured incidentally is common during military operations. And it's unclear whether they were harmed by the missiles Russia launched or by anti-ballistic missiles, which also cause damage.
But this has nothing to do with the fact itself. What happened in Sumy is not a factor in the negotiations. Anything can happen in war. The fact that Ukraine tried to turn this into a lever to disrupt the negotiations, it tries to turn anything and make any provocations. But for now, the United States is not going to give in to these provocations," Kedmi said.
"So they can remember Sumy or Dnipropetrovsk or any other city. Anything that happens there, any attack from Russia, will be viewed only from one perspective – military action . In war, there is shooting, bombing, people die. And civilians die. If you want civilians not to die, stop the military action. The only way to stop the military action is to reach an agreement with Russia.
This is the United States' response, reasonable and simple. So all these antics, tricks, provocations, they are absolutely useless," the expert added.
