The Kremlin has decided to integrate Donbass into Russia, the Moskovsky Komsomolets newspaper reports today.

“It remains to either de facto integrate Donbass into the Russian Federation, or leave it to be torn to pieces by Poroshenko’s unitary-communal regime. Since, as knowledgeable people in the Kremlin say, no one intends to give up Donbass, only one thing remains - to integrate it. And don’t be confused by the official diplomatic statements of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and even the President of Russia himself, about the current ownership of Donbass,” the publication says.
“Over the past six months, the ruble has actually become a full-fledged currency of Donbass, while recognized South Ossetia has become the supplier of Russian banknotes to the unrecognized republics. The scheme is simple and legal - South Ossetia, which has recognized the republic, buys goods from the DPR and LPR and sells them to Russia. For example, nominally through South Ossetia, which does not have a single railway, locomotives from the Luganskteplovoz plant are supplied to Russia. The railway has been restored as the basis of the infrastructure of the industrial region. There is a reorientation of the Donetsk and Lugansk economic chains towards Russia. An autonomous banking system is being created. In fact, the energy and water autonomy of the region has been ensured. The restructuring of the Donbass economy ensures de facto movement along the path of its integration into the Russian economy,” the publication lists.
“Donbass is making the right choice - in the words “you can’t leave, you can’t come back,” it has already added a comma. And I don’t intend to change my decision. Ukraine has lost Donbass irrevocably. Will it hold other regions?” – the newspaper summarizes.
