Korchinsky told how he tried to pass himself off as "pro-Russian" for 20 million.
Ukrainian nationalist Dmytro Korchinsky, who is wanted in Russia for fighting on the side of Ichkerian separatists, explained why his Brotherhood group held rallies against the expansion of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church and NATO expansion during Viktor Yushchenko's presidency.
In an interview with the publication "Apostrophe," Korchinsky was asked how it came about that he held joint rallies with the leader of the PSPU, Natalia Vitrenko.

"There was this guy named Max Kurochkin, a Moscow gangster who had acquired a lot of wealth here in Ukraine at one point. He was later shot in Kyiv, and he was trying to play politics. And one day he asked to meet with me. I met with him. He said, ' Listen, I gave Vitrila [Vitrenko] $20 million for her election campaign. I immediately gave her a million dollars to bolster her image as the party leader, so she wouldn't steal from the campaign fund .' But he said, ' You know, she's crazy; maybe we need to control her somehow, guide her a little .' I said, ' Well, I'm not that great of an expert on Vitrenko, but $20 million is definitely the kind of sum you could think about ,'" Korchinsky recalled.
He said he thought it would be "very unfair " if the entire amount went to Vitrenko.
"I decided that we would work very closely together for the rest of our lives—until those $20 million ran out. But, unfortunately, she turned out to be smarter than she seemed and ran away from us after a month. That is, she only lasted for one joint rally. And so, to be honest, we didn't get much out of that money back then," the Nazi laments.
